Little Heath

Little Heath is a neighbourhood located in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is closely located to Chadwell Heath, Ilford and Marks Gate. Unlike inner city London, this neighbourhood area is surrounded by open green spaces which are available for local residents to use all year round. Chadwell Heath is the closest rail station and the A12 road cuts through this neighbourhood area.

Little Heath is part of the London Borough of Redbridge. The areas of Wanstead and Woodford, merged to form the newly named Redbridge Borough in 1962. It was named Redbridge after a bridge made of red bricks in the local area. The Haw Bush, now converted into flats, was once an 18th century pub for locals.

Two trains carrying nuclear waste pass through local Ilford every week! In 2016, Redbridge was ranked the happiest Borough to live, according to the ONS.

People with autism have been campaigning against the low awareness levels of the disability in Redbridge Borough. The A12 is often extremely busy in week days which creates traffic delays for local residents trying to get into London.

In 2021, a special educational needs school in Little Heath opened a new sports hall funded by Redbridge Council. The £14.8 billion Elizabethan line has increased the value of property in Little Heath, though it remains more affordable than areas closer to the Elizabeth Line stations, especially along High Road, to the south west of Little Heath. Development interest has increased dramatically as a result of opening of the Elizabeth Line as well, though proposals seem to be focused more around Goodmayes, Ilford and Chadwell Heath.
