Woking Delivery Office

This area is designated for PO boxes; specialised for separate business mailing addresses receiving large amounts of post. Situated within the Woking Delivery Office, just south of Woking Station, this office is home to a variety of PO boxes from across the Surrey and Guildford regions. From Knaphill, Bagshot, Windlesham, Lightwater and Woking itself, this delivery office is the hub for PO box deliveries within the Surrey locale.

The delivery office itself is situated just south of Woking’s rail station, which largely services trains to Portsmouth Harbour and London Waterloo. The delivery office, located on White Rose Lane, was initially constructed in 1910. In 1935, it was rebuilt with red-brick and stone with a Neo-Georgian flair. There was, at the time, a general focus towards ensuring that the delivery offices matched the architectural vernacular of its surroundings, however the construction of Woking Delivery Office seems to have disrupted this pattern, as the Neo-Georgian is not a feature of Woking’s design history.

However, in recent times the delivery office’s opening hours have been tremendously cut down and is only open for two hours between 8am-10am from Monday to Saturday. The PO boxes attached to this area are normally large-scale receiving over 25 items of mail per day, making it suitable for a variety of businesses in the Surrey and Woking locales!
