Authentication and Access

The authentication segment helps users to retrieve script tags for embedding datadeli widget on their app or websites and also helps users to generate and manage their access tokens.

Access tokens generated contains security credentials that helps to authenticate a user or an app trying to access the data deli API and these generated tokens can be utilized by both the programmatic and the widget user.

Generating your access token

The steps below describes the process one need to adhere to in order to successfully generate an access token in data deli.

  1. Head on to the “Widget and API page” of the application
  2. Locate the token area just beneath the Authentication and Access section
  3. Click on the Regenerate button to generate a new access token for your preferred subscription package

Managing your access token

All access token generated by the admin have an expiry date based on the duration applied during token generation, therefore, it is advisable to refresh or regenerate a token before the expiration date in order to avoid any downtime in your app or widget

It is also important to note that, regenerating a token will automatically set the previous token to expire in seven days time after which it will be be deleted permanently, this gives the admin more time to swap out the old access token with the new one.
