DMH 4 Purpose-built shared housing

The Council will support new large-scale purpose-built shared housing schemes where they:

  • meet the London Plan 2021 Policy H16: large-scale purpose-built shared living and London Plan guidance for this form of accommodation, and London Plan 2021 Policy D6: space standards requirements alongside any GLA guidance on this matter
  • meet an identified need within the borough based on up-to-date evidence base by taking account of the Council’s latest local evidence identified by the LBBD Strategic Housing Market Assessment, and along with the local Housing Register
  • are located within transformation areas as identified in SPDG 1 and shown on the Policies Map
  • do not undermine the supply of self-contained housing
