DMH 5 Houses in multiple occupations (HMOs)
1.
New houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) will only be supported where they:
- meet an identified need
- do not result in the loss of housing capable of accommodating families with children
- do not result in the loss of character or amenity to the area as a consequence of increased traffic, noise or general disturbance
- are located in an area of high transport accessibility
- comply with relevant standards, including those set out in the East London HMO Guidance 40 and satisfy the housing space standards outlined in the London Plan 2021 Policy D6: housing quality and standards, and/or its relevant guidance

Proposals for conver sions or loss of dwelling houses capable of accommodating a family with children will be resisted.
