BAS BE22: Healthcare Developments.
Proposals for extensions to existing hospital facilities will be allowed in urban areas, where they meet the following criteria:-
- Adequate car parking should be provided for the proposed additional development in accordance with the Council’s Car Parking Standards as set out in Appendix Three. The proposed development should not result in the loss or significant reduction of existing car parking provision;
- The design, form, scale and materials of the development will be expected to be appropriate and sympathetic to existing buildings;
- Their location on the highway network does not give rise to significant problems relating to traffic flow and highway safety; and
- The development should not cause unreasonable harm to the visual or residential amenities of the surrounding area.
