LP 36: Landscape Character (outside of Defined Settlements).
1. The following landscape character areas are defined on the Policies Map (and Inset Maps):
- A1 – Bracknell Forest
- B1 – Crowthorne/ Sandhurst Heathland Mosaic
- C1 – Binfield and Warfield Clay Farmland
- C2 – Winkfield and Cranbourne Clay Farmland
- D1 – The Hazes Wooded Clayland
- E1 – Blackwater River Valley
- F1 – Chavey Down Wooded Sands
- G1 – Easthampstead Wooded Estate
- G2 – Sunninghill Wooded Estate
- H1 – Windsor Great Park
- H2 – Windsor Forest
2. Outside of defined settlements, development proposals will be permitted which recognise and enhance the character and quality of the landscape character area within which they are situated, and protect and enhance the setting of individual settlements and their distinctive characters.
3. Development proposals will be expected to demonstrate the likely effects of development upon the landscape in relation to:
- how they protect, enhance and/or restore the condition, defined characteristics and valued features of the surrounding landscape character, and respond positively to the landscape strategy of the local landscape character within which they are located, and
- how any adverse impacts can be mitigated.
