  • Are within a reasonable distance of services and amenities such as shops, schools and medical facilities;
  • Are located, designed and landscaped to minimise their impact on the environment 128 Braintree District Council Local Plan Section 2;
  • Have a safe vehicular, pedestrian, and cycle access to and from the public highway e. Are not located within areas at risk of flooding;
  • Are capable of being provided with appropriate drainage, water supply and other necessary utility services. For sewerage, a connection to the main sewer system will be preferable except when it is impractical to achieve;
  • Are of an appropriate size to provide the planned number of caravans, parking, turning and servicing vehicles, amenity blocks, play areas, access roads and structural landscaping, and should be safe and secure;

In addition, plots for travelling showpersons must be large enough for the safe storage and maintenance of rides and equipment, and to protect local amenity.
