Policy 65 Temporary Agricultural Dwellings

When considering applications for temporary agricultural workers’ dwellings, the Council will require to be satisfied that:

  • There is clear evidence of a firm intention and ability to develop the enterprise concerned;
  • There is a functional need;
  • There is clear evidence that the proposed enterprise has been planned on a sound financial basis;
  • The functional need could not be fulfilled by another dwelling on the unit, or any other existing accommodation in the area (including living in the adjoining/nearby built-up area) which is suitable and available for occupation by the workers concerned;
  • The size of the dwelling is commensurate with the established functional requirement; and
  • All other planning requirements are satisfied.
