DH2: Conservation Areas and Listed Buildings

Development proposals within a Conservation Area should have regard to the guidelines in the relevant Conservation Area Appraisal(s) and Management Strategies and:

  1. Take advantage of opportunities to enhance the Conservation Areas by protecting and, where appropriate, restoring original architectural features, including walls, windows, doors, etc., that would make a positive contribution to the appearance and character of Conservation Areas.
  2. Seek to protect and/or enhance buildings (or other elements such as boundary walls) that make a positive contribution to the Conservation Area.
