HC1: Housing Mix
- To promote the mix of housing needed within the Neighbourhood Plan area, particularly for affordable housing, the Plan supports the following:
- development that increases the provision of affordable housing in line with the Local Plan and national planning policy;
- the development of larger, three or more bedroom units, for social rented housing;
- the inclusion of small self-contained dwellings, either studio or 1 or 2 bedrooms, in market housing development.
- Housing conversions will not be supported which would result in the loss of dwellings except in certain circumstances mentioned in 8.6 above. Small self-contained dwellings, either studio or 1 or 2 bedrooms are particularly crucial in the Plan area for providing more affordable housing.
- The Plan supports the community-led housing in providing affordable homes and other community assets.
