CPCL4 Improvements to Existing Facilities

I. Proposals to improve the viability of an established community use for the following buildings and land will be supported, provided there are no adverse impacts on the residential amenity of the occupants of neighbouring properties:

  1. Samuel Whitbread Academy
  2. All Saints Academy (4)
    Woodlands Pre-School
  3. Clifton Cricket Club
  4. Recreation Ground and Sports/Play Facilities
  5. All Saints Church and the adjacent Church Hall
  6. The Golden Lion Public House
  7. The Admiral Public House
  8. Clifton Community Centre
  9. Convenience store (27 Shefford Road)

II. Proposals that will result in either the loss of, or significant harm to a facility listed above will be judged against Policy HQ3 of the Local Plan.

III. Where possible, facilities should be ‘shared use’, in order to make the best use of land, and development proposals at the schools should facilitate the sharing of school facilities with the community.
