HE1: Protecting and enhancing Heritage Assets
All development proposals affecting heritage assets including the local heritage assets of the Methodist Church, the Village School and the Recreation Ground will be required to take into account the character, context and setting of the assets. When considering the impact of a proposed development on the significance of a designated heritage asset, great weight should be given to the asset’s conservation (and the more important the asset, the greater the weight should be).
Development should be designed taking account of local styles, materials and detail. The loss of, or substantial harm to, a local asset will be resisted unless the public benefits demonstrably outweigh the substantial harm, or loss of, the asset.
