IF4: Utilities and Services

Water

1. Given that Anglian Water has stated that a new transfer route from their Ruthamford North zone to Ruthamford South is required by 2025 to ensure the continuing availability of potable water, major development proposals should demonstrate adequate access to potable water

2. Anglian Water has indicated that Clifton WWTW has limited capacity for additional growth. Applicants should ensure and confirm that capacity is in place for all new developments

3. Applicants should design proposed new houses so that potable water consumption does not exceed 110 litres/per person/day

4. New development applications that include plans for water re-use measures, including grey water recycling, will in this respect be considered favourably

Energy

5. Applicants will need to demonstrate that the electricity supplies will be robust enough to cope with current population and future expansion of the village along with the extra demands from charging points for electric vehicles. Schemes that fully comply with Policies CC1-8 within the CBCLP (Climate change and sustainability) and CBC Electric Vehicle Guidance for New Development SPD, will be supported within this context.

Broadband

6. Any new development should conform to the Broadband Universal Service Obligation

7. Broadband should be installed in any new development

8. Those development proposals which include the stimulation of private investment in broadband will, in this respect, be viewed favourably

Telecommunications

9. Any development schemes that contribute to the enhancement of the quality, speed and robustness of the telecommunications network in the parish will, in this respect, be viewed favourably
