DM20: Delivering Community Facilities.
Planning permission will be granted for new, or extensions to existing, facilities and services which support the local community where:
- there is access to adequate public transport, cycling and walking links for the benefit of non-car users; and
- vehicle access and on-site vehicle parking would be provided to an appropriate standard commensurate to the scale of the development; and
- the development would be compatible with its surroundings; and
- there would be no unacceptable impact on the character, appearance or local environment; and
- adequate access to and between the facilities and/or services would be provided for people with disabilities commensurate to the scale of the development.
Where the proposal falls outside of main Urban Areas and Defined Settlements, it must also comply with the relevant policies for its location, taking account of the planning policy objectives for that area.
