DM 10.2 Design of Green Roofs and Walls

  1. To encourage the installation of green roofs on all appropriate developments. On each building the maximum practicable coverage of green roof should be achieved. Extensive green roofs are preferred and their design should aim to maximise the roof’s environmental benefits, including biodiversity, run-off attenuation and building insulation.
  2. To encourage the installation of green walls in appropriate locations, and to ensure that they are satisfactorily maintained.
