WAT6 Wastewater Infrastructure
Development proposals must ensure that adequate wastewater infrastructure capacity is available in advance of the occupation of development.
Upgrade and expansion of existing, or provision of new, waste water treatment infrastructure will be supported provided that:
- It utilises best available techniques, and provided that
- It does not have an adverse effect on the integrity of Special Protection Areas, Ramsar Sites and Special Areas of Conservation either alone or in combination with other projects and plans, and
- A strategy to meet relevant national and European environmental standards can be demonstrated.
