DMD 87 Equine related development

Proposals for equine related development in the Green Belt, will only be permitted if all of the following criteria are met:

  • There is no adverse effect on landscape or nature conservation quality;
  • The agricultural land quality is maintained;
  • Adequate arrangements are made for the management of grazing areas;
  • The size and scale of stables and other development associated with the use do not harm the openness of the Green Belt; and
  • Hard-surfaced areas are kept to a minimum.

This policy should be read in conjunction with Core Strategy Policy 33.
