CP10 Renewable Energy Schemes
Proposals for renewable energy schemes will be permitted provided there is no significantly adverse effect upon:
- existing land uses from loss of visual amenity, noise, pollution or odour;
- the local highway network including the convenience and safety of road users;
- telecommunications networks, radar installations and flight paths for aircraft;
- sites of importance for nature conservation (i.e. statutory and locally designated sites), conservation areas, scheduled ancient monuments and other nationally important remains and their settings, listed buildings and their settings, or landscape character.
In granting permission for a scheme the Council may require, by use of Section 106 Obligations and /or planning conditions, that (a) appropriate mitigation measures are provided to ensure compliance with criteria (1) to (4) above, and other relevant policies in the Plan and, (b) that the application site is fully returned to a condition appropriate for its previous use when or if the scheme is decommissioned or becomes redundant.
