CP8 Sustainable Economic Development

Provision will be made for economic, commercial and housing development and transport investment which will:

  1. facilitate economic regeneration in areas of relative social deprivation to reduce disparities in economic success across the district;
  2. reflect capacity and result in balanced and sustainable economic and housing growth in urban areas and across the district as appropriate;
  3. within the rural areas, make provision for environmentally and economically sustainable activities and adequate housing to encourage renewal and maintain vitality;
  4. encourage local economic diversity;
  5. encourage the development of appropriate high value-added economic activities where this is economically beneficial and environmentally acceptable;
  6. satisfy other plan policies.
