CP9 Sustainable Transport

Where appropriate, development schemes will be required to:

  1. provide for a sustainable and integrated transportation system;
  2. include investment in transport infrastructure to facilitate and support economic success;
  3. promote and provide for sustainable means of transport, especially to key community facilities, particularly by public transport, cycling and walking;
  4. improve and make the best use of existing infrastructure, including demand management and reducing the need to travel;
  5. ensure access by all sectors of the community, including the mobility impaired and the economically disadvantaged;
  6. improve passenger transport services;
  7. provide for a safe and efficient transportation network that improves the accessibility of local communities.
