GB13 Subdivision of Houses
The Council may permit the subdivision of existing large houses in the Green Belt into two or more dwellings. In so doing the Council may take into account:
- the suitability of the proposed new units and their curtilages in terms of living space, garden space, privacy, access, car parking, and other residential amenities;
- the desirability of preserving a building of historic or architectural interest which is otherwise shown to face imminent dereliction or demolition;
- whether the appearance of the countryside would be impaired; and
- accessibility to employment, schools, shops, community services and public transport.
The Council will remove certain permitted development rights from the resulting dwellings.
