LL1 Rural Landscape

The Council will continue to act to:

  • conserve and enhance the character and appearance of the countryside; and
  • encourage the considerate use and enjoyment of the countryside by the public.

Subject to specific circumstances, particular attention will be paid to:

  • the needs of agriculture, woodland planting and management, and other habitat and wildlife conservation;
  • the provision of facilities for public access and informal recreation and to enable quiet enjoyment;
  • the protection of historic features and their settings; and
  • the achievement and conservation of visually attractive landscapes.
