TC3 Town Centre Function
In the principal, smaller and district centres the Council will:
- permit new retail and other town centres uses that make the centres attractive and useful places to shop, work and visit throughout the day and evening; and
- permit residential accommodation in appropriate locations but not at ground floor level; and
- refuse proposals that would prejudice the potential of upper floors as living or business accommodation; and
- refuse proposals which would result in stretches of ‘dead’ daytime frontage.
