D22: Registered Parks and Gardens
Development proposals affecting a Registered Park and Garden or its wider setting are required to demonstrate that it would:
- cause no unacceptable harm to the asset’s significance, taking into account layout, design, character, setting and appearance of those features, both built and natural, that form part of and contribute to its special interest;
- respect the integrity of the landscape and key views into, through or out of the park or garden, particularly those which are an integral part of the design;
- not lead to the unsympathetic sub-division of the landscape; and
- not prejudice its future restoration.
Where harm to/loss of significance is identified this will be considered against Policy D18(3): Designated Heritage Assets.
