LP17 Housing Design

The Council will expect all homes and extensions to existing properties to be of high quality design and meet the internal and external space and accessibility standards set out in the London Plan, GLA Housing SPG and Hackney’s Housing SPD.

Housing types must be designed to be flexible in use and adaptable over time to meet the changing housing needs in Hackney.

Schemes will be required to meet the sustainable design and construction standards set out in the Hackney’s Sustainability and the Built Environment SPD, as a minimum.

Residential extensions and alterations schemes should have regard to the Residential Extensions and Alterations SPD (and any future updates to this SPD).
