LP3 Designated Heritage Assets - World Heritage Sites

The Setting of World Heritage Sites

Development proposals affecting the setting of a World Heritage Site should:

  1. Conserve, promote and enhance the Outstanding Universal Value of the World Heritage Site (as set out in the official statement of Outstanding Universal Value), including the authenticity, integrity and significance of its attributes, and support its management and protection.
  2. Not compromise the ability to appreciate its Outstanding Universal Value, or the authenticity and integrity of its attributes.
  3. Be supported by a Heritage Impact Assessment. Where development proposals may contribute to a cumulative impact on a World Heritage Site or its setting, this should be clearly illustrated and assessed in the Heritage Impact Assessment.
