DM46: Betting Shops

  • Proposals for betting shops will only be permitted where they are appropriately located within the Metropolitan Town Centre, a District Town Centre or Local Centre, having regard to Policy DM42 (Primary and Secondary Frontages) and DM43 (Local Shopping Centres).
  • Proposals for new betting shops will be assessed against their impact on town centre vitality and viability, having regard to:
    • The number of existing betting shops in the centre; and
    • The need to avoid overconcentration and saturation of this particular type of use.
