33 Air quality
The Council is committed to improve air quality in Havering to improve the health and wellbeing of Havering’s residents. The Council will support development which:
- Is at least air quality neutral;
- Optimises the use of green infrastructure to reduce pollution concentrations and exposure (see Policy 29);
- Delivers measures to support active travel to reduce emissions (see Policy 23)
- Meets the targets for carbon dioxide reduction in the London Plan (see Policy 36); and
- Minimises emissions from construction (see Policy 34).
