17: Protection of Sites of International and National Importance

Waste management proposals will be permitted where it can be demonstrated that they would not have an irreversible adverse impact on the following:

  1. the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty;
  2. Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas;
  3. National Nature Reserves
  4. Ramsar sites;
  5. Sites of Special Scientific Interests (SSSIs);
  6. Scheduled Ancient Monuments;
  7. Listed Buildings and their settings;
  8. National Trust Land;
  9. Historic Parks;
  10. Areas of Archaeological Importance;

These assets should be conserved and where possible opportunities sought to enhance them.
