SADM31 - Bushey Heath MOD Housing Area
In order to preserve the special character of the Bushey Heath MOD housing area defined on the Policies Map, new development will be permitted if:
- it respects the pattern, rhythm, spacing and open setting of the area;
- it is sited on a plot that reflects existing plot sizes and it does not result in disproportionate plot coverage;
- it does not disrupt the rhythm of existing front building lines or significantly alter existing sky gaps;
- it complements the design of existing buildings by virtue of its height, scale, bulk, materials and in particular roof design, front projections and ridge and eaves heights;
- it makes provision for the retention of soft landscaping between the road and building and respects the open layout of front curtilages;
- it ensures that existing trees which make a positive contribution to the character of the area are retained;
- additions to dwellings do not dominate or overbear the original proportions of the dwelling.
