OL12 Development of Agricultural Land
The local planning authority will not permit development which will lead to the irreversible loss of the best and most versatile agricultural land grade 1, 2 and 3A, whether currently in use or still capable of being used for agricultural purposes. Proposals to use such land for other acceptable green belt uses will be assessed having regard to:
- The impact of the proposed change of use on the landscape;
- Agricultural land quality;
- The size and structure of the proposed unit, its relationship and importance to the pattern of farming; and
- Whether the proposed alternative use accords with the other policies of this plan and contributes to its objectives.
