CS 11 Waste
The council will encourage sustainable waste management by:
- Promoting waste reduction, re-use, recycling, composting and resource efficiency over landfill.
- Requiring developments to provide waste and recycling facilities which fit current and future collection practices and targets and are accessible to all.
- Designating sites through the NLWP to meet an aggregated apportionment target across the seven North London boroughs. These sites will be the principal locations considered suitable for waste facilities.
- Protecting the Hornsey Street transfer and household recycling facility against change of use in line with policies set out in the NLWP.
