DH8 Public art

  • Provision of high quality public art is encouraged as part of new development, where this does not constrain other higher priority Local Plan policies and objectives.
  • All new public art must:
    1. be developed in consultation with the community in which it is located;
    2. protect and enhance local character;
    3. ensure that it does not compromise the delivery of sustainability or inclusive design policy objectives;
    4. be site specific in terms of the design and concept;
    5. be visible and able to be enjoyed from a publicly accessible location; and
    6. require minimal maintenance and (where necessary) decommissioning works.
