SP1 Bunhill and Clerkenwell
- The Bunhill and Clerkenwell area is made up of the following six Spatial Strategy areas (shown on Figure 2.2):
- City Fringe Opportunity Area
- City Road
- Farringdon
- Mount Pleasant and Exmouth Market
- Central Finsbury
- Historic Clerkenwell
- The Bunhill and Clerkenwell Area Action Plan (AAP) has policies for each Spatial Strategy area, which set out the key strategic considerations for these areas. These areas have been defined by their scope for development opportunities to meet key needs (in particular office use) and distinctive characteristics that must be maintained and enhanced.
- The AAP also sets out area-wide policies focused on prioritising and supporting the office function of the area, as well as consolidating and enhancing the area’s cultural, retail and leisure role.
- Site Allocations within the Spatial Policy Area are expected to deliver 1,260 homes and 216,900sqm of office space over the plan period.
