H4: Housing size mix in new developments

The council will support proposals which offer a range of dwelling sizes and types to meet current and future housing needs. All residential developments are expected to provide a mix of dwelling sizes as set out below.

  • The low cost rented element of residential developments should reflect the preferred borough-wide housing mix set out below.

  • For market and intermediate housing, a balanced mix of unit sizes including family-sized accommodation should be provided.

The size of accommodation provided through housing for specific community needs will be dependent the needs of the intended occupiers of the specialist housing.
