T8: Minicabs, taxis, private hire and ride hail services

Proposals for Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) offices and Licenced Taxi ranks will be supported in town centres and other areas where they will meet a demonstrable transport need and where they demonstrate through a transport assessment that their operation would not adversely impact on traffic congestion, local parking supply, capacity or need, pedestrian movement or road safety.

Proposals will not be permitted where they would cause unacceptable harm to residential or wider amenity; or to highway safety or operation.
