LTC21 Sustainable transport
The Council will work with a range of partners including Transport for London (TfL), Network Rail, public transport providers, landowners, developers and other stakeholders to ensure that improvements are secured and delivered to the frequency, quality, accessibility and reliability of the town centre public transport network, including those schemes identified in the Policy Area policies in Section 5.
Specific funding for improvements required to cycling and walking routes in Lewisham town centre will be sought, including:
- the Waterlink Way north of the Lewisham transport interchange towards Conington Road,
- east – west links through the town centre and beyond to the wider neighbourhoods.
Additionally, mitigation works to improve the pedestrian and cyclist experience are required at the following locations:
- northern roundabout,
- Loampit Vale,
- Lee High Road and Belmont Hill,
- Lewisham High Street,
- Molesworth Street,
- southern roundabout,
- the junctions at Ladywell Road / Lewisham High Street / Courthill Road.
