ED1 Existing Employment Areas

In the following Employment Areas, as defined on the proposals map, development will be permitted only for :

(A) Business (Class B1) development at:

  1. Firmstart Estate, Twydall
  2. Second Avenue, Luton
  3. Vicarage Lane, Hoo.

(B) Business (Class B1), general industry (Class B2) and storage and distribution (Class B8) at :

  1. Courteney Road, Gillingham
  2. Gads Hill/Danes Hill, Gillingham
  3. Gillingham Business Park
  4. Pier Road, Gillingham
  5. Railway Street Industrial Park, Gillingham
  6. Formby Road, Halling
  7. Fort Bridgewood, Chatham
  8. Frindsbury Peninsula
  9. Kingsnorth
  10. Laker Road Industrial Estate
  11. Rochester Airfield
  12. Lordswood Industrial Estate
  13. Beechings Way (excluding the Mixed Use Areas)
  14. Isle of Grain/Thamesport
  15. Hopewell Drive, Luton

(C) General Industry (Class B2) and storage and distribution (Class B8) at :

  1. Chatham Port.

(D) Business (Class B1) and general industry (Class B2) at:

  1. Former Depot, Otterham Quay Lane.

Proposals for development on the above sites resulting in the loss of existing industrial, business or storage and distribution development to other uses will not be permitted.
