H8 Residential Institutions

Residential institutions and hostels will be permitted subject to the following criteria:

  1. the proposal would not adversely effect nearby residential amenity; and
  2. in appropriate cases, where the occupants have a degree of mobility and independence, the property is within reasonable walking distance of shops, public transport and other facilities; and
  3. adequate amenity space is provided for residents; and
  4. parking is adequate for staff, visitors and service vehicles, taking into account the accessibility of public transport; and
  5. for changes of use, the property is too large to reasonably expect its occupation by a single household.
