L1 Existing Leisure Facilities

In order to maintain existing levels of provision, development which would result in the loss of leisure facilities will not be permitted unless it can be shown:

  1. that similar or better replacement is made elsewhere within the same catchment area, which is well located in relation to the primary or secondary road network and is readily accessible by public transport, pedestrians and cyclists; or
  2. that there is no longer a need for the facility and it is unsuitable for conversion to an alternative leisure use; or
  3. that the site is allocated for other development in the local plan.
