L12 Golf Courses

Proposals for golf courses and associated facilities will be permitted subject to the following criteria :

  1. it is compatible with the scale and character of the local landscape and does not adversely affect the countryside and natural environment; and
  2. it does not result in the irreversible loss of the best and most versatile agricultural land; and
  3. it is well located in relation to the highway and public transport network; and
  4. it does not prejudice the amenity of local residents or other users of the countryside, and protects or satisfactorily provides for existing public rights of way; and
  5. it does not include functionally unrelated ancillary development.
