S2 Strategic Principles

The implementation of the development strategy set out in policy S1 will focus on:

  1. maintaining and improving environmental quality and design standards;
  2. a sustainable approach to the location and mix of new development, to provide local communities with a range of local facilities, (including transport measures to serve development and sensitivity in the use of energy and natural resources);
  3. the adoption of a sequential approach to the location of major people and traffic attracting forms of development, including retailing, leisure, educational and health facilities.
