DM T2 Transport impacts of development

Policy aim

To ensure that development is sustainable and has minimal impact on the existing transport infrastructure and local environment.

Policy

  • Planning permission will be granted for development proposals provided they do not adversely impact on the road or public transport networks, safety or congestion particularly on strategically important routes.
  • Development proposals will need to demonstrate their impact on the transport network through the provision a Transport Assessment and associated Travel Plan in accordance with Transport for London referral thresholds.
  • Smaller developments that fall below Transport for London referral thresholds, which may impact on transport conditions, will be expected to demonstrate potential impacts through a Transport Statement.
