Policy 19

When considering applications for mineral extraction, the local planning authorities will seek to secure environmental and other public benefits (including, where appropriate, recreational benefits) through

  1. the restoration, after-care and after-use of extraction sites; and
  2. the environmental conservation and enhancement of the wider surrounding area to which the proposed extraction relates, and the promotion of recreational opportunities within this area.
