Policy 27
Every application for the establishment of a new rail aggregates depot, or for additional or altered facilities or working arrangements at existing depots, must be accompanied by full details sufficient to enable the local planning authority to assess the application. In appropriate cases, these details should include a statement of the likely environmental effects of the development and of the traffic to be generated by it, along with details of the measures proposed to avoid, reduce or remedy those effects. Where required by the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 1999 and DETR Circular 2/99, these details should be supplied in the form of a formal Environmental Statement. In the case of the sites listed in Policy 26(1), applications must also address the issues relating to the site as detailed in Appendix 7.
