BKH3: Parking space standards

The following minimum standards for off-street parking shall apply to all new homes:

  • One off-street parking space for bedsits and one bedroom homes
  • Two off-street parking spaces for two and three bedroom homes
  • Three off-street parking spaces for four bedroom and larger homes.

Garages are frequently used for storage and should not therefore be counted against these minimum standards. Provision should be made to park and store bicycles at all new developments. Permeable surfaces for parking areas should be used according to the guidelines set out in Appendix 9.
