REC11 - BUILT RECREATION FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
Recreational development which would detract from the openness of the Green Belt and rural character of the countryside or whose proposed location and use is not incidental to outdoor recreational activities will not normally be permitted. Small-scale essential facilities for outdoor sport and outdoor recreation will be permitted provided:
- the site is suitable for the proposed development;
- it would not have an adverse impact on residential amenity or the rural character of the locality;
- the amount of traffic likely to be generated by the proposal would not prejudice highway safety or cause significant damage to the environmental character of country roads;
- the proposal is satisfying an identified deficiency;
- the proposal would not be better located at a site with existing facilities;
- car parking provision is discreetly located, well screened and does not significantly harm the rural character of the countryside.
