REC14 - NON-COMMERCIAL HORSE-RELATED DEVELOPMENT
Planning permission will be granted for new horse-related development within, or adjacent to the curtilage of a dwelling provided:
- the proposed development is small scale and its location, its design, scale and materials are in keeping with the character and appearance of the area and would not have a detrimental visual impact on the openness of the Green Belt or rural character of the countryside;
- the proposed development and any horse-related uses would not be unneighbourly to adjoining residential properties;
- sufficient land is available for grazing and exercise;
- it would not lead to an over-use and deterioration of bridleways and open spaces in the vicinity;
- the riding of horses off-site would not cause inconvenience or danger to pedestrians, drivers or horse riders themselves;
- it would not cause significant harm to nature conservation interests.
