LP13: Hotels and Tourist Accommodation
The Council will only support proposals for new hotel facilities and tourist accommodation such as hotels, hostels, boarding and/ or guest houses, bed and breakfast (use class C1) in the following locations:
- Metropolitan District and Local Centres; or
- Locations which have good public transport connections to central London and/ or international or national transport hubs.
New hotel and tourist accommodation should meet all of the following criteria:
- The size and character of the site or building is suitable for the proposed use;
- The proposed use will be compatible with the character and appearance of the area;
- The residential amenities of local residents will not be unduly afected through noise, disturbance, loss of light outlook or privacy;
- The existing environment or transport system will not be adversely afected by way of unacceptable increases to trafc and parking in the area;
- The proposal has adequate servicing arrangements and provides the necessary of-highway pickup and set down points for taxis and coaches;
- The proposal meets the cycle and car parking standards set out in the London Plan; and
- The proposal does not result in the loss of residential accommodation.
